What is SEO?

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the art of creating content and generating back links (among other SEO techniques) to improve your company’s search engine ranking.  When a search is carried out, all of the major search engines utilise complex algorithms to calculate which website sites are most relevant to the individuals search query.  Search Engine Optimisation is about understanding these algorithms and optimising websites accordingly.

SEO is imperative to any company that requires an online presence.  This is because approximately 90% of internet users locate websites through search engines, of these users only 80% never make it past the bottom of page two.  The benefit of having an optimised website is that people associate search engine rank position with quality and trust, the higher that a  website is ranked in organic search engine results, the greater the quality and volume of the visitors to your website, which typically helps increase sales.

There are three main phases to an SEO campaign:
